Royal Oak Transit App

Prompt: Design Project for Social Good

Design an app and a responsive website that help parents and students find bus routes and stop information. The app should also let parents and students search for or create their own carpooling groups.

Final project for my Google Certification course. The pormpt was created from two different prompts from the Sharpen app that I put together.

To give the project more contect, I made the target audience students from teh Royal Oak school district in Michigan as many of the elementary and high school bus routes were stopped during COVID.

Food Finder

Prompt: Design an app and a responsive website for a local grocery store that helps shoppers locate products as they shop in person.

Starting this project, I wanted to see what unique challenges there would have been post-COVID lockdowns. During this time, there was a boom in mobile deliveries and in response, raised expectations when it came to users requesting contactless orders.

Surprisingly, most of the complaints I found online were similar regardless of whether the posts were pre-2020 or post-2020. The only differnece being the severity of supply chain issues in certain neighborhoods.

SUMMIT

Prompt: Design A Web App for Camping Supplies Brand

I was given a set of predefined user personas for this project. I decided that I wanted to make my target audience young adults since I felt like more seasoned campers, hikers, etc would already be familar with big brands in the industry and may not be looking for a new app or brand. For personal experience, I know a lot of young people who are interested in camping and aren’t sure where to start. Since I wouldn’t be getting a definite response from a brand (as this was all hypothetical), I decided to make that part of their missions statement.
